Dear [faith leader],
On behalf of the Host Committee of Hoosier Faith Leaders, it is my privilege to invite you to a special luncheon to hear from Governor Daniels in Indianapolis on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, beginning at noon. We will meet at Jonathan Byrd’s Cafeteria, 100 Byrd Way, a well-known eatery in Greenwood, Indiana, just off Interstate 65 at Exit 99. It is our hope this will be a special time of encouragement and refreshment for you as one of our State’s Faith leaders as well as an opportunity for you to better understand Governor Daniels’ powerful and positive pro-life, pro-family and pro-faith record. A similar luncheon was held in 2004 and was attended by more than 500 faith leaders from across Indiana. We hope to significantly increase that number this time. In that spirit, please invite a fellow pastor or church leader to attend with you. RSVPs are required, however, because we do not want to run out of food. The meeting will be an informal time of fellowship with the Governor speaking about how his faith informs all he does as our State’s Chief Executive. Moreover, we anticipate he will briefly touching on some of the issues that are key priorities for Indiana’s future. While this event is hosted by the campaign, it is an informational meeting. It is not a fundraiser, nor a rally, and there will be no charge for the meal. In addition, we will be distributing materials from leading church-serving organizations, such as the Alliance Defense Fund, on the role churches, para-churches and other non-profit organizations may play in helping engage and inform Hoosiers about in the political process.
I trust and pray you will make this gathering a priority and that I can personally greet you at this important luncheon on August 19th.
Sincerely,
Curt Smith President, Indiana Family Institute
